Oceanport Lions' Strawberry Fair

The Lions' Strawberry Fair, a family tradition in Oceanport, is an official State of New Jersey Department of Agricultural event. The fair again incorporates educational displays and programs with rides, games, attractions and delicious food, including the Lions' famous Strawberry Shortcake. The Fair will be held May 19 - 24 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Monmouth Park Race Track parking area in Oceanport, NJ. (For Directions, see the link listed on the Home page).

One of the largest traveling petting zoos in the nation is scheduled to be present with a wonderful display of farm and exotic animals including camels, zebra, llama, a kangaroo, macaw parrots and a reptile display. A special attraction of wolves is expected to be on display this year. When the children are not riding a pony or camel, families can enjoy feeding the animals and a well rounded program of live entertainment featuring performances by local bands, including area high school bands and choral groups.

What makes the Strawberry Fair so special is that all the Lions proceeds from the fair are donated to charitable causes that primarily support those less fortunate individuals who suffer from sight impairments, including blindness and those who have hearing impairments.

Additionally, money raised from past fairs has been used by the Lions for charitable projects that include, but are not limited to, scholarships for deserving college bound students, necessary first aid, fire department and police equipment, funding toward the construction of a new playground for area children, pediatric cancer patients, etc.

Thank you and I hope to see you at the Strawberry Fair.

Sincerely,
Peter A. Dellera, Jr.
Lions' Strawberry Fair Chairman
